How much does a wedding cost in Portugal?

An honest guide to what really drives the budget, where it is worth investing and how to make your budget go further.

It is the first question every couple asks, and the hardest to answer with a single number. The truth is that there is no single price: there are decisions. And those decisions, far more than the venue, define what your day will cost.

What really drives the budget

At most weddings, food and drink take the largest share, followed by the venue, decoration and photography. Everything else (music, stationery, transport, favours) adds up in small amounts that, together, make a difference.

The most common mistake is to look at each item on its own. The budget balances out when you think of the whole: the menu, the décor and the venue enhance one another, and an estate with gardens gives the décor a setting that makes it shine.

Tip from the team

Set the number of guests first. It is the variable that multiplies almost every cost, and the easiest to underestimate.

The four variables that change everything

When you ask for a proposal, four answers determine the final figure. They are what we use to build each tailored budget:

01The date. High season, weekends and the summer months are in higher demand.
02The number of guests. It multiplies menu, drinks, service and furniture.
03The type of event. A gala dinner and a wedding reception have different requirements.
04The theme and personalisation. The more it is designed from scratch, the more detail is involved.

Where it is worth investing

Some details guests remember years later: the food, the way they were welcomed and the atmosphere of the place in the late afternoon. This is where we recommend focusing the budget: these moments define the memory of the day.

Making your budget go further

The biggest difference lies in the guest count: every extra guest is one more seat, one more menu and one more invitation. The date matters too: Fridays, Sundays or off-peak dates are usually more affordable than a summer Saturday. And it really helps to choose three clear priorities and protect them in the budget.

“A well-planned budget is not the lowest one; it is the one that spends every euro where it can be seen.”

Why we do not publish prices

There is no price list because no two weddings are alike. Publishing a “from” price would be misleading: it would be too low for some, and put off others who would, in the end, have a perfectly adjustable budget.

Instead, we build a tailored proposal from your four variables. We reply within 24 hours, with full transparency and no commitment.
